Dr. Lucy Smith is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Dallas, Texas. Although she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eating and weight-related disorders, Lucy also works with a variety of other presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, life stress, relationship concerns, and issues related to identity and sense of self. She works with adolescents and adults.
Dr. Smith received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before that she attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) where she received both a Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), a designation provided through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Lucy has completed clinical training at the Cooper Institute, Galaxy Counseling Center, the Raimy Clinic at the University of Colorado, the La Luna Center in Colorado, the North Texas Veterans (VA) Hospital, and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas (in their inpatient psychiatric and eating disorder programs).
Dr. Smith has been published in numerous medical journals, including Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention, authored multiple Clinical Workshop Presentations, Poster Presentations and speaking engagements, including Building a Healthy Relationship with Food and your Body.
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Dallas. She has a wonderful husband and two daughters who keep her on her toes and who have given her an enriched perspective on both herself and her clinical work. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, working on the house, and reading.
